Puerto Aventuras ActivitiesAmong the most popular tourist activities are water activities. Puerto Aventuras hosts some great opportunities for snorkeling, diving, sailing, fishing, and swimming. If none of those things interest you, the beautiful beaches are great for just relaxing. Snorkeling and DivingYou can hire guides to take you to some of the nearby reefs for snorkeling or diving. The Dive centers in Puerto Aventuras rents snorkeling gear, and offers diving and kayaking tours. The closest reef in Puerto Aventuras is just a few meters (yards) from the beach. The Puerto Aventuras Cedam Dive Center rents gear and offers snorkeling and diving expeditions with its highly-trained and experienced staff of multi-lingual instructors, divemasters and guides. FishingPuerto Aventuras is considered one of the top vacation spots among world-class sports fishermen. In its waters are plenty of migratory bill fish, sailfish, white and blue marlin, blackfin, skipjack, yellow tuna, kingsfish, wahoo and barracuda. You are required to release any bill fish that you catch. Light tackle, spinning tackle and fly-fishing are also recommended. Sailfish and marlin run from early March through mid-July. Dorado, snipper, kingfish and wahoo are abundant all year long. Each year, in April or May, the area hosts a fishing tournament. Among the businesses that offer fishing excursions, the prices per person vary from $2,000 to $3,000 pesos (U.S.$200 to $300) for half a day or $5,000 pesos (U.S.$500) for a full day of fishing. Some charters like Captain Rick's and Offbeat Angling also offers fishing expeditions. SailingPuerto Aventuras offers some great sailing opportunities. Fat Cat provides catamaran tours. CAVU offers them as well, along with snorkeling, diving and wind surfing. Their prices vary from $450 to $700 pesos (U.S.$45 to U.S.$70) per person. ParasailingParasailing is offered by Flier 5, the cost is about $450 pesos (U.S.$45) per person. swimming with dolphinsThe dolphin facility offers a chance to interact and play with these intelligent sea creatures. You can take a ride on a pair of dolphins, get a dolphin kiss, and of course race across the surface with them. Fifty-five minutes costs about $1,200 pesos (U.S.$120). They are available Monday through Saturday from 11:00 hrs. to 14:00 hrs. (11 AM to 2 PM). On Sundays, there is one show that begins at 14:00 hrs. (2 PM). The price also includes a pass to the interective aquarium located there.
